Real Estate Inventories specialises in the provision of detailed inventories, schedules of condition, plus mid-tenancy and check-in/check-out reports.

Proprietor Tim Parker spent over three decades as an estate agent (Fellow of NAEA and NALS; Member of ARLA) before branching out on his own to concentrate his efforts in this specific area.

As he recounts: “I couldn’t help but notice that most end-of-tenancy disputes arose as a result of there not being a clear, concise check-in report in place at the start of the tenancy. To me it was obvious that this failure was bound to cause a totally unnecessary and tiresome situation to emerge. I always thought it was a crazy state of affairs and invariably one which could have been so easily avoided.”

Experiences like that convinced Tim that the preparation of a clear and jargon-free inventory and schedule of condition was absolutely essential to protect the interests of landlord and tenant alike.

“There is actually legislation in place stipulating that all deposits taken by landlords/agents be lodged in a secure scheme,” Tim continued. “Such a scheme is intended to provide a measure of protection against the non-return of a deposit without a justifiable reason. However, like many good ideas, the devil sometimes lies in the detail. A vague, confusing or ambiguous inventory or schedule can only lead to trouble down the line.”

For that reason, Real Estate Inventories will ensure that when they prepare an inventory or schedule, there will be a particular emphasis placed on attention to detail, professionalism, fairness and honesty.
